  1. High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) — A popular fitness trend, high-intensity interval training consists of alternating between short bursts of intense activity, and longer recovery periods. For example, you could sprint for 30 seconds (after thoroughly stretching), then proceed to rest for 2 minutes. Studies show that your body may actually continue burning fat for up to 48 hours after completing a high-intensity interval training routine.
  2. Body Weight Training — Good old-fashioned body weight. There’s a reason body weight exercises have been around for so long, because they work! Body weight training is beneficial due to an ability to exercise virtually anywhere. By completing a routine of simple push-ups, sit-ups, and pull-ups, you could be well on your way to that toned physique you desire! (Hint: the key is to keep your core tight throughout your routine.)
  3. Wearable Technology — On a more technological aspect, fitness “wearables” (such as a pedometer) are a great way to simplify your weight loss approach. They’re able to track things like your heart-rate and the amount of steps you have taken in a given amount of time, all of which are important things to know if you’re serious about losing weight.

All things considered, the only surefire way to lose weight is to actually put in the work. However, these three fitness trends are all great ways to start! Whether you choose one, or combine the three, at the end of the day you’ll be able to say that you took the first step! No matter how far away your goal may seem, everyone knows that a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.
