I’ve been in a high-demand sales career in the pharmaceutical industry for more than 20 years. I started to notice that I wasn’t as energetic as I used to be and my self-esteem had gone downhill. Now that I’m working out consistently at 360 Fitness, I feel better, have more energy and confidence, and every area of my life has improved.
From Morning Sleepiness and Afternoon Slumps to Staying Energized Throughout the Day: Meri-Margaret’s Story
Over the years, I’d become out of shape. I found myself dragging out of bed in the morning and generally felt tired and run down in the afternoons.
I joined another gym in town years ago, paid the monthly fee, and never went. But I noticed my friend was working out consistently, getting results, and she loved her gym. So I decided to give 360 Fitness a try too.
As soon as I walked through the door at 360Fitness, it felt like a family. I was immediately comfortable, didn’t feel insecure, and found that there’s always somebody willing to answer questions. I was never made to feel like I didn’t fit in or wasn’t welcome.
When I first started, even a modified pushup was difficult for me, and I could only do about three minutes on the StairMaster. Now, I’m able to do regular pushups without a problem and 30-40 minutes on the StairMaster.
I was intimidated by the idea of working with a trainer because I thought I wasn’t good enough. But I quickly found that Michael is a great guy who knows what he’s taking about. By focusing on proper form and safety, he’s taught me that I push myself without getting hurt.
I’m a pharmaceutical sales rep, and because I didn’t feel my best and didn’t like what I saw in the mirror, I had become timid in my work. Now, I’m more comfortable in front of customers, and I have the confidence to ask for the sale. It’s a competitive environment and there’s a lot of stress that goes along with it. I knew I could be more effective if I felt better, and I was right!
In the past, my sleep was always interrupted throughout the night and I was never fully rested in the morning. Now, I fall asleep faster, stay asleep, and wake up refreshed.
These days, I hit the ground running. I’m able to get things done around the house more easily and tackle my to-do list each day. I’m stronger, fitter, and have far more confidence in myself and my abilities. My energy levels are through the roof. In fact, I used to struggle to climb a ladder up to my roof to hang Christmas lights every year. Now, I’m able to go up and down the ladder 50+ times with no problem.
My mental health is also vastly improved. Not only do I like what I see in the mirror, but I’m happier. My stress levels have diminished greatly, and I’m a more positive person overall.
Because I feel better about myself on the inside as well as on the outside, I’ve enhanced my relationships too. Bringing a brighter outlook into everything that I do has changed the way I interact at home with my husband and houseful of pets, in business, and with my friends and family.
Even my social life has been impacted in a positive way since I’ve seen changes in the mirror. I used to dread being around people because I didn’t like the way I looked or how I felt about myself. I preferred to sit at home and not get out much. I’m far more social now and have more fun at events.
Whenever you start an exercise program, it’s hard physically and mentally. You might feel hesitant about walking into a gym. But walking in that door is the best investment you can make in yourself. You’ll be surprised at how quickly the things your trainer asks you to do will lead to improvements in yourself. What you thought was hard to begin with will become easy as you advance.
